Media sources report that Allwyn, vying for control of the UK National Lottery, will name David Craven as its next chief executive. Allwyn, a subsidiary of the Czech lottery powerhouse Sazka, is making this decision as it aims to win the next UK National Lottery contract. The formal statement is anticipated on Wednesday.
Craven’s background, which encompasses leading roles at prominent gaming software and wagering firms like The Tote and World Gaming, positions him well for this new role. His proficiency in the “digital evolution of gaming-related enterprises” is considered a significant advantage.
The Gambling Commission is projected to determine later this year whether to grant the upcoming license to the current holder, Camelot, or select a different organization.
Sazka has been strengthening its bid with notable appointments, including Sir Keith Mills as chairman of the bid. They’ve also recruited industry veterans like former Sainsbury’s CEO Justin King and Lastminute.com co-founder Brent Hoberman.
“The National Lottery holds greater significance than ever,” stated Craven. “My career has been devoted to leveraging technology to enhance the consumer journey, both physically and digitally.”
He continued, “It’s not solely about crafting enjoyable and captivating games, I firmly believe that technology offers the optimal method for safeguarding players.”
